The 9th Annual Port Onieda Fair

The 9th annual Port Oneida Fair was held on August 13 and 14 of 2010.

This free two-day family event is a celebration of rural culture and art which gives visitors an opportunity to experience life as it was in the late 1800's and early 1900's. The Port Oneids Fair is hosted by the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, in cooperation with nonprofit partners Friends of Sleeping Bear Dunes and Preserve Historic Sleeping Bear. Funding is provided in part by the National Endowment for the Arts, the Michigan Humanities Council ... and 'people like you.'

This pictorial review of the Fair includes a collection of forty-six original images, showing barns, games, music, and scenes you enjoyed ... or might have had you been able to participate. If you missed out, mark your calendar for the second weekend in August of next year.

(Please note: Natives always said it like this: "Port 'Nyda".)
